A recently published Israeli study (Kedem et al., Fertility and Sterility – June 2014)  suggests that using the non-stimulated or minimally stimulated cycle for patients who are proven low responders in prior IVF cycles is not a sound strategy.

In a previous communications we reviewed uterine causes for implantation failure, hydrosalpinges, egg quality, smoking, abnormal embryonic development, and embryo transfer technique.  When IVF fails to result in pregnancy in spite of repeated attempts, there are a number of additional explanations that must be considered. This communication explores the impact of lack of synchronization between embryonic and endometrial development, embryonic chromosomal abnormalities (aneuploidy), immunologic causes, and endometriosis as potential explanations for repeat IVF failure.
